Hero MotorCorp has launched the BS6 model of the Xtreme 200S at a price of ₹ 1.15 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The official website has been updated with all the details of the new bike. The new Xtreme 200S is known to be a good handler with good responses and sorted dynamics. We dig into the details.

Engine and features

However, the catalytic converter in the exhaust and the oil cooler have resulted in a weight increase, giving it a kerb. Most of the bike remains the same otherwise. It features Hero’s AutoSail system that prevents the bike from stopping at slow speeds. It is sold in colours like Pearl Fadeless White colour.

The design

The Hero bikes are attractive and sporty design, and what’s particularly attractive is the LED headlight design. The slender trapezoidal lamp is flanked by a pair of sharp triangular LEDs on either sides. There’s also a black plastic accent bordering the headlight, which blends well with the dark tinted windscreen. The fairing of the bike gives it a very proportionate appearance. The belly pan is finished in black.

The instrument cluster features an LCD display that gets Bluetooth connectivity and turn-by-turn navigation assist. It also gets a stubby exhaust, which matches the overall look of the bike. It comes with a flat handlebar, sculpted tank, rear-quarter panels and a stylish tail light.

The ride

Low-end torque is good, and so is tractability. Open up the throttle, and the bike manages a top speed of 125kph. Although performance is not too impressive. The bike handles well, turns into corners seamlessly and feels stable around corners with good grip on offer. Dynamically, it is very good and it gets ABS with a single-channel setup.

The Xtreme 200S is priced over the Xtreme 200R. What you get for the price though is a full LED headlight and a TFT display. The bike also looks nice and sporty and the pricing puts it at par with the Suzuki Gixxer SF. And being the Hero brand, this bike is sure to offer great. We’re hoping this becomes a popular bike in the 200cc line-up. The diamond frame is the same one on the Xtreme, so is the suspension and brake setup and tyres too. The motor gets a carburettor but feels similar to the old bike in terms of the ride experience. Also, grab the latest info on the new bikes, only at autoX.
